Josh Jensen, Pastor

Josh joined us in our ministry at Kost Church to North Branch and the Chisago area in September of 2017. He's a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and has a been a pastor since 1999. He's married to Jen for over 28 years and they have 4 incredible kids who all help with the ministry. Josh is a gifted preacher, shepherd, administrator and disciplemaker.

Zebra pens and good coffee bring him much earthly joy. If he wasn't married and called to the ministry he'd be working on an Ore Boat on the Great Lakes or driving a tour bus. He loves books and hopes to read them someday (maybe when he's an empty nester).

Lowell Nelson, Elder, Chairman

Lowell is an Electrical contractor, having owned his own business since 1986. He has been married to his beautiful wife Carol for more than 40 years. He has three grown children and four grandchildren. 

 

Lowell and Carol have attended Kost Church since 1978. Lowell has served with the Awana program for 28 years and before that was a Boys Brigade leader. He has also served on the trustee and missions board and is currently an elder. Lowell serves with humility, kindness and a good amount of humor.

Some hobbies he enjoys are working with his sawmill, cutting firewood, bow hunting and four wheeling.

Mike Preisler, Elder, Vice-Chairman

Mike Preisler and his family came to Kost Church in the early 90s. He grew up in North Branch and graduated from NBHS in 1967. He then graduated from St. Cloud State with a degree in biology. His plans were to be a teacher, but he kept working in auto repair. 

​

Mike and Mary have been married for more than 39 years and have 3 grown children and 2 grand kids. He enjoys nature, gardening, building things, and reading "how to" books. He really enjoys his Friday Bible Study as well. 

​

He has worked with children in Sunday School and Awana for over 30 years. Mike has a passion for kids to know the Bible and Christ as their Savior. 

 

At Kost, Mike has been an Awana commander, trustee, on the pastoral search team and now is an elder. Mike serves with godly wisdom and gentleness.  As he enjoys retirement, he has become more involved in helping the church reach others for Christ with men's Bible Study and Sunday school.

Chris Langevin, Elder, Secretary

Chris is married to the beautiful Dawn, not the dawn, like new day, but Dawn, who's as wonderful as the dawn! :) They married in 1981 and have 3 adult children and have been at Kost Church for...

​

Chris grew up in Babbitt (way up north on the Iron Range). He was a Bethel Grad in 82 with a major in Biblical Studies. God moved him into technology though and he's been serving God in the workplace ever since. 

​

Chris serves the Lord at Kost in a very hands on way as a father to the fatherless, help for the hurting and also practically with the sound system and worship (playing guitar). He loves to teach God's Word and says the gift of a good Bible Commentary makes his day! 

​

He wishes he had more time for his hobbies of guitar playing, astronomy and Xbox...not necessarily in that order. And he enjoys gardening...especially growing jalapeno peppers!

Mark Schoess, Elder

Mark and his wife Sandy first started worshiping at Kost about six years ago and became official members last year. They have lived in Lent Township for 26 years where they raised their two sons. Both sons are married and Mark and Sandy have been blessed with two grandchildren. Mark and Sandy have been married for 40 years and began their life-long relationship while they were still in high school.

Mark was born and raised in Minnesota and grew up near Afton in the home his parents still live in. He graduated from Stillwater High School (as did Sandy) and went to college at the University of Wisconsin where he earned a bachelor’s degree, majoring in marketing and minoring in computer science and completed a master’s degree in marketing from the University of St. Thomas. Mark went on to have a long career in sales marketing.

Mark is retired and enjoys attending Kost Men’s Bible Study led by Mike Preisler and has many interests including competitive rifle shooting, photography, fishing, hunting, travel, RV camping, biking, wilderness canoeing, skiing and snowmobiling.
